On July 10, 2019, another "people's flagship" was announced under the name Infinix Note 6. This Chinese company appeared relatively recently (2013) and belongs to the Transsion Holdings concern, which specializes in the development of electronics. Despite little experience, Infinix managed to surprise users. Their new creation differs markedly from modern smartphones and has several fresh solutions. It was announced at the exhibition that the device comes with an XPen stylus, which is not just an accessory, but a really useful tool. Also, the smartphone is equipped with a decent display with an excellent matrix and high resolution. Demanding consumers were also satisfied, the system is equipped with an 8-core Helio P35 processor with a frequency of 2.35 GHz and a PowerVR graphics chip. The manufacturer decided not to introduce any noticeable changes in the appearance and released a smartphone that is relatively simple in terms of design. The Note 6's body is made of aluminum alloy and is limited to black, brown and blue colors. In general, the device looks strict, the corners of the structure are slightly rounded, and the front panel is surrounded by thin frames. The device sits comfortably in the hand, its dimensions are not too massive. The body is 154 mm long, 75 mm wide and 7.7 mm wide. The product weighs approximately 174 grams.
The back cover of the phone houses a fingerprint scanner, manufacturer's logo and a triple camera module with LED flash. The front panel is covered with a 6.1-inch display, is equipped with a small eyebrow and chin, a notification indicator and a front-facing camera. The volume control and the power key are located on the right side, and the tray for two SIM-cards and microSD is on the left. The upper part is equipped with a microphone, 3.5 mm audio jack and an additional speaker. At the bottom are the most interesting elements - a usb port for charging, a main speaker and a compartment for an iridescent XPen stylus. More about him later.
One of the main advantages of a smartphone is its display. This node is equipped with a bright Amoled matrix and high resolution 1080x2160. The diagonal of the screen is 6.01 inches. There is support for the Always on Display function. The screen boasts very high color rendering with strong black tones. Regarding the brightness level, there are no problems, in the daytime the image does not fade, and at night all the information remains easily readable.
It is noteworthy that Infinix does not copy most smartphones of 2019 and does not carry any cutouts on the front panel. At the top of the display is a 16MP front camera.
The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio P35 chipset, built using a 12 nm process technology. Two sockets work in a pair: a 4-core Quad-Core Cortex A53 with a clock frequency of 2.3 GHz and a 4-core Quad-Core Cortex A73 at a frequency of 1.8 GHz. In general, such a system is sufficient for most everyday tasks. The main menu works quickly, applications open without interruption. Unfortunately, the smartphone pulls heavy games weakly. Responsible for the graphics component is the PowerVR GE8320 GPU, which runs at 680 MHz. The device is capable of playing 4K video. The Infinix Note 6 has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. In case of insufficient memory, it is possible to install a 128 GB memory card.
Another plus of the smartphone is its powerful battery. The battery capacity is 4000 mAh, and its autonomous work is enough for several busy days. Unfortunately, wireless charging is not supported in the system, but there is an option to quickly recharge the energy.
The manufacturer Infinix has long accepted support for Android One, so the company's devices operate on "pure" software. As for the Note 6, the operating system is Android 9.0 Pie with the proprietary XOS5 shell, which brings a number of entertaining features. For example, in the main menu of your smartphone you can find the CarlCare app for customer support and XCafe as the app for the Infinix forum. In addition to additional services of the proprietary shell, the phone has all the necessary standard applications. Operating system support for the August security patch is also helpful. The software has the ability to automatically update to the latest version.
The original XPen stylus is a highlight in the smartphone and serves as the main manufacturer's tool needed to promote the new line of devices. The developers took a responsible approach to the question of the functioning of the stylus and expanded its capabilities with the help of artificial intelligence. He is able to instantly identify the features of the stored data and suggest possible solutions for successful processing. Additional features include turning on the keyboard or the application the user needs, recording a phone number or sending a message by mail.
The XPen stylus is equipped with augmented reality algorithms, thanks to which it can measure the dimensions of objects around the user. If you need to determine the size of a table, chair or cabinet, XPen can handle it easily. A detailed report of the measurements performed is displayed on the main screen. The element is located at the bottom of the body.
The device has a rather powerful camera equipped with three modules. The main sensor is limited to a 16MP sensor, the second serves as a 120-degree wide-angle lens with an 8MP sensor, and the third is a depth sensor needed to change the sharpness during portrait shots. Its sensor is designed for just 2 MP. Additional features of the camera include shooting in 4K format, as well as the presence of automatic focus. Next to the camera modules is a dual LED flash that works flawlessly.
The front camera in the smartphone does not lag behind the main one. The module is equipped with a 16 MP sensor and an F / 2.0 aperture.
The smartphone has a rather narrow and tight audio output. It should be noted that this is a clear plus for consumers who use the phone as a player. A headset is included with the device, but it cannot boast of high volume and high-quality sound. The non-original headset functions perfectly with the phone, the sound is loud and clear.
At the expense of the main dynamics, things are not in the best way. The sound quality is mediocre, the volume is average, distortion occurs periodically.
First of all, it should be emphasized that the Infinix Note 6 is equipped with 5 GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth with a data transfer rate of 5.1 Mbps. There is support for 3G and 4G networks. It is also worth noting the work of the GPS system (A-GPS, GLONASS). Communication with the satellite is fast, cold start is 3 seconds. The system has a 3.5 mm jack port for connection with a headset and a radio tuner. NFC is unfortunately missing.
Transsion Holdings offers the user a relatively cheap and productive smartphone. For just $ 200, you can get a compact, stylish and moderately functional device equipped with a triple camera and a bright display. Also worth noting is the excellent matrix and high screen resolution. Overall, the Infinix Note 6 leaves a positive impression. Of course, the hardware cannot boast of high performance, but the device offers unique opportunities with the XPen stylus. There are far fewer drawbacks in the phone than advantages, and this is a plus in itself.
