"Meizu is reborn from the ashes" - this is what you can now hear about a once successful company that almost went bankrupt. One of the stages of the revival was the presentation of a new smartphone - Meizu 16T.
What do you imagine when you hear about a $ 280 smartphone? Most likely, a device with average parameters and technical characteristics will appear before your eyes. But Meizu decided to surprise, and for a low cost they offer to purchase a flagship gaming device, which will be discussed in this article.

In the review, we will tell you in detail what the cheapest flagship is and whether it is worthy of being in your hands.
The most important thing in a smartphone is its "filling", but despite this, first of all, most users pay attention to the appearance. Meizu 16T coped with this point of the main selection criteria.
The novelty has a very noticeable, bright appearance. The classic black and white colors are absent, the manufacturers offer them to enjoy juicy colors in the form of green, blue-violet and orange. The back panel is covered with a glass surface, on which bright colors shimmer very beautifully.
The colorful panel in the upper left corner has a triple module with a main and ultra-wide-angle camera, a depth sensor. There is a LED flash under the module. The Meizu logo is in the middle of the panel.
The front panel is solid minimalism. The 16T does not support the fashion of a waterdrop notch for the front camera, which many consumers will be happy about. The camera is neatly and almost imperceptibly located on the right side of the "bangs". The bezels of the device are very thin, they do not distract the eye from the large screen, which occupies 85.2% or 106.3 cm2 of the body area.
The location of the keys and connectors is as follows:
Meizu 16T has a very light weight - 183 grams and dimensions - 159.6 x 78.2 x 8.3 mm. The aspect ratio is 18.5 to 9.
The display is represented by the third generation OLED materials - Samsung Super Amoled Custom Screen. The 6.5-inch screen is ideal for watching videos, movies, reading books, as well as playing games, which is facilitated by a number of positive characteristics:
Photo and video shooting is not the strong point of Meizu 16T.While most manufacturers prefer the main Sony 48MP sensor, Meizu opted for a 12MP sensor. But the manufacturers have promised to improve the quality of the photos using the software.
In general, the quality of the photos can be called average: the natural color rendition and good detail pleases, but the night shots have insufficient detail and a lot of noise. Macro photography also has average photo quality.
The rear camera is represented by three sensors:
The camera supports:
The front camera is expressed by an Exmor-RS CMOS sensor and an f / 2.2 aperture. The maximum possible image resolution is 4,000 by 3,000 pixels. The camera supports face detection, auto flash, digital zoom, continuous shooting, high dynamic range mode, face beauty mode, portrait mode, night mode, and backlight mode.
Below you can see how the device is taking pictures.
In the presented photos you can see how the phone takes pictures at night, during the day and in macro mode.
Meizu 16T has an impressive battery life, which is responsible for a non-removable lithium-polymer battery with a capacity of 4,500 mAh.
With normal use of the smartphone, the battery will be enough for 2-3 days of work. Using the device constantly, the user will receive 10-12 hours of battery life. In standby mode, autonomy is 6-7 days, with continuous talk - 30 hours.
The 16T supports Meizu's 18W mCharge fast charging function. The battery charges up to 100% in less than 2 hours.
In addition to the standard button unlocking method, Meizu 16T supports 2 more methods. The first method is to use the front camera, which has a face unlock function. The second way is to use a fingerprint sensor built into the screen. The recognition angle of the Super mTouch scanner is 360 degrees, the response speed is 0.2 s.
Meizu 16T has two stereo speakers that will provide excellent sound quality, both when listening to music and while playing games. Also for better immersion in games, manufacturers have installed a linear vibration motor.
The novelty has a 3.5 mm headphone jack. Supports active noise cancellation with dedicated microphone.
The Meizu 16T has a reversible connector as well as Type-C 1.0 and USB 2.0 connectors. The built-in navigation system works with BDS, GLONASS and A-GPS programs. Bluetooth version 5 is supported, with codecs A2DP, LE and the following wireless local area networks: access point, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-fi 802.11, bands 5 and 2.4 GHz. Global LTE bandwidth is supported.
The smartphone has built-in fingerprint sensors, accelerometer, compass, proximity and gyroscope.
The computing power of the novelty is provided by none other than one of the best processors at the moment - this is the Snapdragon 855. The chipset is built on a 7-nanometer FinFET process and has low power consumption. The Snapdragon 855 octa-core platform works with the Kryo 485: 1 core clocked at 2.84 GHz, 3 cores 2.42 GHz and 4 cores 1.78 GHz. Responsible for the graphics Adreno 640.
Meizu 16T is perfect for active games.A nimble processor and graphics card can handle even the most demanding games with ease. Also, the chipset perfectly pulls any applications, allowing them to run smoothly without any braking. Artificial intelligence is powered by the Hexagon 690 DSP AIE engine.
Meizu 16T runs on proprietary Flyme 8 shell based on Android 9 pie. The updated Flyme 8 shell has many useful changes, including:
The RAM is characterized by LPDDR4X memory format, which is fast and energy efficient. The built-in memory is expressed in UFS 3.0 format, the speed of which reaches 1.4 GB per second.
Meizu 16T does not provide the ability to expand memory using a memory card, but offers several versions of devices to choose from. There are 3 versions available for buyers:
At the moment, the new product is only available in China. When to appear in Russia and whether it will appear at all is unknown. Since the smartphone supports global bandwidth, it can be ordered directly from China.
In a white, compact package, the user will receive a smartphone, charger, warranty card, quick start guide, USB-C cable and a paper clip to open the slot. Unfortunately, the package does not include a protective case.
