A new device has appeared in the budget line of smartphones. It was Nokia 2.3, presented by HMD Global at the presentation in Egypt.
The company focuses on cutting-edge design developments that have made it possible to integrate a dual camera and flash into the rear panel of the device at the same level. The strength and rigidity of the entire structure is provided by a high-precision die-cast aluminum chassis. This guarantees additional protection for the inner filling.

Externally, the smartphone does not have any super features. Classic shape and arrangement of control buttons.
The front panel with thin bezels is completely occupied by the screen, only the bottom bezel is slightly wider than the rest with the Nokia logo. Above is the traditional cutout for the front camera.
Rear panel with vertical camera centered at the top. Below is the brand name.
The dimensions of the device correspond to 15.7 * 75.4 * 8.7, weight - 183 grams. The usual dimensions for this type of device.
Case material plastic / metal. High quality plastic combined with metal makes the perfect shell for an inexpensive phone.
There are several color solutions for users to choose from: gradient colors with a transition from dark to lighter shades - graphite, turquoise and gold. The surface is corrugated (ribbed polymer coating), the impression of a small strip on the lid is created, it is not slippery, a well-provided security measure, a safety net against accidental falls.
It should be remembered that this is a representative of the budgetary level, therefore it is impossible to find something out of the ordinary here.
IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with a diagonal of 6.2 inches, which is equal to 95.9 sq. Cm. The correspondence in relation to the whole body of the apparatus is approximately 80.7%. HD + resolution (720p), aspect ratio 19: 9.
This type of screen is common for inexpensive smartphones and is considered quite good in terms of color display, eye protection from overvoltage and picture quality. A familiar color display of 16 million colors and shades.Their saturation is the same over the entire surface, including in the corner zones.
Minimal bezels around the perimeter make the display visually larger, which is great for viewing any files. Internet surfing even in bright sunlight will not fail.
The Nokia 2.3 carries the Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 (12nm) chipset. Quad-core processor (Cortex-A53 @ 2 GHz), built on the 12 nm process technology. A good solution for a budget employee with moderate appetites for energy consumption. The PowerVR GE8320 graphics, according to the same Mediatek, are 72% faster than the competing Qualcomm Snapdragon 425.
Naturally, the device does not have any over-playing abilities. Simple versions of games are available, but all standard applications are included. Of the intellectual capabilities in the arsenal, only some image correction. There is no face unlock, but when taking photographs, facial features are recognized and become the subject for focusing.
CorePilot monitors the temperature of the device, preventing it from overheating. The main advantage of this chipset is its economy and endurance. These abilities are more than enough for an inexpensive model costing just over $ 100.
Familiar Android 9 without any add-ons. The manufacturer promises an update to Android 10. In addition to this, firmware refresh for 2 years and monthly security updates for the next 3 years.
The new inexpensive smartphone has 2 GB of operating memory and 32 GB of internal memory. These are excellent parameters for a state employee. Especially when you consider that there is an option for additional expansion up to 512 GB with a separate slot for microSD. Even not all mid-range phones have a separate slot for a memory card. This device will be able to fully support the dual standby mode of SIM cards with an active flash memory.
What can be special about the cameras of a budget smartphone. It's hard to experiment and invent without adding value here. Therefore, everything is simple with the camera parameters, sometimes even very primitive.
It is located in the center of the rear panel in a vertical block of two sensors: main lens 13 Mp + depth sensor - 2 Mp. LED flash at the bottom of the structure.
The rear camera parameters are not fantastic, but considering the budget version of the device, you can get quite acceptable pictures with it. The flash will help to cope with the lack of proper lighting, although night photos are unlikely to delight the user. There is a digital zoom suitable for dynamic video shooting. Jerks and vibrations during approach will not interfere with the process, the dynamics will stabilize automatically. In addition, there is a function of choosing the best shot. The photo program of the device produces the most successful frame from the resulting. There are two modes available: continuous dynamic shooting and high dynamic range.
The image is moderately bright and clear. If you keep the required time between shots to fix the focus, then there will be no blurring.
Classic location at the top of the front panel. The camera cutout is delicate and diminutive. Selfie lens - 5 MP. This is clearly not enough, and therefore one should not expect something supernatural. Primitive artificial intelligence finds faces and recognizes some flaws, removing them. All this is at a fairly low level. Although what to expect from a budget smartphone costing just over $ 100.
The battery is probably the only thing that really deserves praise. Non-removable 4000 mAh lithium polymer battery. Its main advantage is its large volume and low self-discharge level. With the use of proprietary technology "Adaptive Battery", the manufacturer promises a battery life of up to 2 days. But the volume itself says a lot about itself: in a state of active use without recharging, the operating time will be at least 8-10 hours, while watching videos and surfing the Internet up to 7 hours.
The smartphone supports bluetooth version 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 (with access point), GPS with A-GPS technology, GLONASS, BDS. USB ports: for charging microUSB 2.0, USB On-The-Go.
FM radio is a feature of all state employees, which will undoubtedly delight most users. Accordingly, a 3.5 mm jack is provided for the headset.
The package includes a proximity sensor and an accelerometer (motion control).
Nokia 2.3. will take its rightful place in the budget niche of smartphones. There is no shadow of doubt that users will respond to the call of a reliable manufacturer. If the device is used for conversations, then it will more than cope with the assigned task. Easy internet surfing is also quite affordable. Well, even if the device is not a game one and does not have the super properties of a camera, but the buyer takes it for such a price, at which one can hardly buy something better. And Nokia is Nokia, whatever one may say.
