But, in fact, the combination of design and modern technological characteristics at affordable prices plays an important role.

The giant of the mobile market from the Celestial Empire Huawei has unveiled a new smartphone Nova 5T. In essence, this model should be an improved version of the older sister Nova 5. Thanks to the rich content, it falls into the manufacturer's flagship segment.

Like all major manufacturers, the company has not ignored the latest trend of 2019 - a quad camera. Time will tell how justified such a technical solution is. It is quite possible that the quadruple camera module will become the de facto standard in production, but for now such camera phones are rather an interesting toy. And in the coming year, thanks to the demand for similar models or lack thereof, the future of smartphones with four cameras will be decided.

Camera

The rear camera is not one here, but provided by a block of four pieces. According to the specification, the main module will be equipped with a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor and f / 1.8 aperture. It is this maximum resolution that the processor supports and all the main modules from competitive manufacturers have.

As for additional cameras, there are differences in their resolution and purpose. The optional 16MP module is an f / 2.2 wide-angle camera that is useful for shooting panoramas and landscapes.

The next 2 megapixel module with an aperture of f / 2.4 acts as a depth-of-field sensor, which is what you need for the bokeh effect. Unlike other gadgets with quad modules, cameras with a telephoto lens are not offered in the Nova 5T, and the latter module, also at 2MP and f / 2.4, will work in macro mode with a fixed focal length of 4 cm.

It is disappointing that there is no optical stabilization for the flagship model, although some competitors have it.

For taking pictures in low light conditions, there is an LED flash. Unfortunately, during the presentation, the company from the Middle Kingdom did not provide examples of how the Nova 5T photographs at night.

But the craftsmen of Huawei presented a wonderful gift for selfie fans. Slightly inferior in characteristics to the main camera, the front one, with a resolution of 32 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture and face recognition function, will be located in the through hole in the upper left of the screen. Unlike its predecessor, the Nova 5, where the camera sits on a teardrop-shaped ledge in the center of the screen.

Film lovers will also be a little upset: the manufacturer declared the aspect ratio of the display of the Nova 5T as 19.5: 9, which of course is the Full HD standard, but does not reach the full-fledged "cinematic" 21: 9.

In order for customers to experience an aesthetic pleasure from tactile sensations, the screen glass is made using 2.5D technology with rounded edges around the entire perimeter.

Fans of games will like a bundle of a nimble processor, capacious RAM and a powerful graphics core.

Another controversial point not only of Huawei, but of other manufacturers around the world was the rejection of the classic and such a convenient 3.5 mm headphone jack. Tech geeks are jubilant - down with wires, and music lovers are crying quietly in the corner.Now, to listen to music, you need a wireless headset or a USB Type-C adapter, which is the only connector in the phone. Through it, you can synchronize with a computer and charge the gadget.

By the way, the smartphone supports Super Charge technology, and according to the assurances of manufacturers, in just half an hour, a 22.5 W charger will be able to recharge the battery by 50%. Li-Polymer-battery with a capacity of 3750 mAh ensures the autonomy of the device. This should be enough for a day of active Internet surfing and watching videos.

Design

By the type of body, Huawei nova 5T is a classic smartphone with a frameless display, all function keys are also displayed on the screen.

The fingerprint sensor is integrated into the power button on the right edge. Unlocking occurs simultaneously with the activation process, which is quite convenient. There is a volume rocker above the power button. On the left side there is only a compartment for SIM cards. The bottom edge houses the USB Type-C connector, speaker for speakerphone and microphone.

A characteristic feature of the model is the camera block on the back cover. Three cameras are installed in a vertical row, starting from the top: widescreen 16 Mp, main 48 Mp, additional 2 Mp. The flash LED is located under this block. To the right of the block is a 2 megapixel macro camera.

Due to the desire of manufacturers to reduce the thickness of the case, it is not possible to physically fit the camera optics into the case without protruding above the surface of the back cover. The main and wide-angle cameras have 6 lenses each, plus a matrix and a display. And all this is required to fit into incomplete 8 mm. There is only one way out - to make the camera block protruding above the body. Someone will take this for a design idea, but judging by the feedback from the owners of devices with a similar design, we can conclude that this solution is not very practical. Whatever glass protects the cameras, they will still rub against the pocket, on the tabletop and scratch.

On the contrary, the color scheme is successful: the metal case with glass coating and the Nova brand logo look nice. The device will be produced in three colors: blue, purple and black. Moreover, the purple case is notable for the fact that it has a gradient print with the Nova logo all over the case.
