Today no one can be surprised by a phone with a large diagonal, while ten years ago it was difficult to imagine a device the size of a palm. But technologies are developing, opening up new horizons and scope for experimentation in the IT industry, and in many ways these innovations come to ordinary users from Asia, in general, and China, in particular. Just as with the size of devices, today it will not be difficult to surprise a person with a good and affordable smartphone from China, because the popularity of models of brands from the Middle Kingdom is only growing. This review will focus on the Huawei P Smart (2019) smartphone - the advantages and disadvantages of which will be analyzed in detail.

Huawei has firmly established itself in the smartphone market, offering very interesting solutions in the context of modern mobile devices. However, the new version of Huawei P Smart (and this is it, because the 2019 model differs from its predecessor even in size: 5.65 versus 6.2 inches) is designed to both embody new engineering developments and stir up interest with its aesthetic design.
Looking at the new product, it is difficult to remain indifferent - the gradient blue color will either fascinate and attract the attention of the observer again and again, or cause dislike (for such users, Huawei has introduced the usual classic black model). However, upon close examination, the similarity with Huawei P20 Lite (duplicated camera and fingerprint sensor have the same look) and a competitive model from Honor 10 Lite ("Face" of the smartphone). But we must admit: the merger turned out to be very harmonious.
The arrangement of parts on the body is not revolutionary - everything remains quite common. The front panel is almost completely occupied by the display, the frames are quite narrow. Of interest is the design of the front camera - it received a drop-shaped notch in the middle, which looks unusual. There are two buttons on the side panel - power on and volume control. The rear panel, as mentioned above, received a dual camera shifted to the left and a scanner located in the upper part in the middle, at the bottom there is a vertically designed brand name - HUAWEI, executed in white.
Since it is not yet reliably known which materials will be used in the second-generation budget P Smart, and the published photos cannot serve as a good source of information (since modern plastic variations practically do not differ in appearance from glass), it is difficult to say how the smartphone will look in reality. But apparently, he will have enough fans.
The desire to update the budget segment is largely due to the need to equip devices with Kirin chips - the development of Chinese manufacturers as a competitor to Qualcomm. There are many comparisons of both chips on the network and it is impossible to say that the Chinese is super powerful. Yes, the Kirin 710 outperforms the equivalent Snapdragon 636, but the difference is subtle. Therefore, this campaign looks more like a marketing ploy, but as a variety, the 710 is a decent average.
Earlier it became known about the announcement of flagship models, now the turn has come to relatively inexpensive gadgets. But the key phrase here is inexpensive, which means that you should not count on over-performance, contrary to the statements of the developer. True, the fact that the smartphone will fully cope with the main tasks, and most users will not experience any problems with it, must also be taken into account - the hardware of the device will make it easy to service the operating system and the owner's needs (for active games at medium settings, but not higher).
Average price is the ideal battleground for the best vehicle manufacturers. Therefore, almost every new product should have its own characteristics, otherwise it will drown in the abyss of such gadgets. Speaking of Huawei P Smart, we can highlight the following: nice design, large display, microUSB 2.0 (strange, because most manufacturers are switching to Type-C, although for most people this does not play a key role).
Presumably the official premiere of the device will take place in early December 2018, after which it will soon appear on European shelves. Little is known about the price yet, but it can be assumed that it will fluctuate around 250 euros.
The phone is positioned as a budget phone with a good camera and performance. How P Smart photographs at night and in the sun is not yet known, since sample photos are not yet available on the Internet, but the resolution of the cameras casts a little doubt on the veracity of these statements. If the front camera with 24 megapixels is quite suitable for the description above and, probably, will please all selfie lovers, then the main bundle of 2 and 13 megapixels inspires some mistrust.
But you don't have to worry about performance - an eight-core processor (4 × 2.2 GHz Cortex-A73 & 4 × 1.7 GHz Cortex-A53), combined with an ideal 4 GB RAM for modern tasks, will handle the most demanding games at medium settings (possibly a little higher). I was also pleased with the presence of an energy-efficient and productive Mali-G51 - the graphics accelerator is really good in comparison with previous versions.
The amount of internal memory is also quite consistent with today's standards - 64 GB (of which up to 14 GB will go for system needs), to which you can additionally add microSD up to 256 GB.
These characteristics will be implemented based on the brand new Android 9.0 (Pie), which has received a number of improvements and updates. In addition, the interface will be displayed in conjunction with the proprietary shell EMUI 9.0.
Judging by the fact that the device will be equipped with a good IPS matrix with a maximum screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the picture should be detailed and clear.
Information about the capacity of the battery made some confusion in the characteristics - rumors about both 3320 mAh and 3400 mAh are circulating on the network. The difference, of course, is not fundamental, but still the autonomy is still in question.
Some confusion continued with wireless technologies - the presence of NFC is unknown. The rest of the standard set is Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n, Wi-Fi Direct, hotspot, Bluetooth 5.0, A2DP, LE, EDR, aptX HD, A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS and FM radio.
The communication parameters are as follows: GSM, CDMA, HSPA, LTE. SIM cards: Nano-SIM, dual stand-by.
You can estimate the size of the device by looking at the dimensions: 155.2 x 73.4 x 7.8 mm, but there is no reliable information about the weight.
Having analyzed the characteristics of the new product from Huawei, even if they may not be complete yet, we can conclude that in its price segment it has a very good chance of success. Powerful, stylish, supporting modern android and some interesting technologies, it turns into an interesting alternative to popular brands. And even if it's too early to talk about the success of P Smart, “on paper” it looks very good.
It is impossible to summarize the results of a product that has not yet been released, because in practice not a single test has been performed and not a single review has been written. However, analyzing the announced data, you can make a preliminary list of the strengths and weaknesses of the smartphone.
