Lenovo A6 Note smartphone - advantages and disadvantages

The beginning of the 2019 autumn season was marked by the appearance of new products from the world's leading manufacturers. The renowned transnational company Lenovo also distinguished itself in this regard, which presented a representative of the budget segment Lenovo A6 Note in early September. What technical characteristics and capabilities the new model will differ in will be discussed in the presented article.

Features of external design

The new Chinese device, unlike its Note counterparts, is not characterized by large dimensions. However, all the current trends in visualization of modern electronic devices are inherent in a compact gadget: a device of a strict classical configuration with slightly rounded edges and corners, equipped with a full-format display with minimal frames and a drop-shaped cutout in the upper part. The potential user is given the opportunity to choose from a minimum set of colors: Black (black) and Blue (blue). A smartphone, the body of which is made of plastic, has a relatively small weight for products of this kind of 172 g and not the largest overall dimensions:

• height - 154.7 mm;
• width - 72.9 mm;
• thickness - 9.2 mm.

The electronic device is equipped with a touchscreen display with a diagonal of 6.09 inches with a resolution of 1560 × 720 pixels. HD + resolution, combined with a display density of 282 ppi, can provide a sufficient level of color saturation and detail in the displayed image. In addition, the IPS technology that has found application in the considered model provides a good level of color rendering and viewing angles sufficient for comfortable perception of the displayed picture (this is the matrix that professional video editors, photographers, graphic design specialists prefer to use for their work).

The screen area in% of the total frontal surface area is 80.7%. The proportion of the sides corresponds to the indicator that is inherent in a significant part of the devices produced today - 19.5 / 9. Such a ratio realizes the user's comfort when watching videos, text and graphic documents, and also helps to embody the preferences of game lovers.

Platform

The control function is assigned to the Android 9 (Pie) operating system. The above OS this year has found the widest application in mobile devices: it implements an increased autonomy rate, giving priority to those applications that are often used, and also helps to simplify multitasking.

The gadget uses Mediatek MT 6762 Helio P22, designed for mid-range devices.The chipset used provides a ceiling of up to 6 GB of RAM, the maximum display resolution is HD +, as well as support for a single camera up to 21 MP or dual-camera modules with a resolution of 13 + 8 MP. This solution may not seem the best for Snapdragon fans, but the Mediatek MT 6762 Helio P22 chipset in terms of RAM speed, semiconductor diameter, novelty of OpenGl and eMMC versions, overtakes such a representative of a famous competitor brand as Qualcomm Snapdragon 625. Model, based on a 12-nanometer technological process, contains 8 Cortex-A53 cores and operates a PowerVR 8320 graphics accelerator.

Memory

The volumes of internal storage (operational and built-in) are presented in two options:

• operational (RAM) - 2/3 GB;
• built-in (ROM) - 16/32 GB.

By modern standards, these indicators are not impressive, however, memory resources can be increased due to microSD: the electronic device has a slot for a memory card with the maximum possible amount of information up to 256 GB.

Battery

The non-removable lithium polymer battery is rated at 4000 mAh. Such a capacity is capable of ensuring the autonomous operation of the gadget for a day or more with its active operation: a smartphone user will be able to use the device both as a telephone device and as a means of communication via Skype, e-mail, on social networks, as well as a means of creating photographs and videos ... In addition, this indicator of battery life, taking into account the level of performance, display characteristics, takes into account the interests of mobile gamers.

According to the manufacturer, a fully charged battery device will withstand 14 hours of video viewing, 40 hours of telephone conversations, 92 hours of listening to music, or 426 hours at rest.

Cameras

The main camera, equipped with an LED flash, consists of two sensors. The main sensor has a resolution of 13 megapixels with an aperture of f / 2.0. An additional sensor - a depth sensor with which the creation of the bokeh effect is realized, has a resolution of 2 megapixels and an aperture of f / 2.4.

The rear camera will help to realize panoramic shooting, provide operation in HDR mode, record video in 1080p @ 30fps.

The selfie camera is equipped with a drop-shaped cutout on the front panel and includes a single sensor with a resolution of 5 megapixels.

Frontalka realizes comfortable video communication, which is also important for a modern user.

Network and interfaces

The smartphone has a hybrid slot for two nano-format SIM cards, the functioning of which is carried out in dual stand-by mode: accordingly, if the user wishes to expand the device's memory by occupying one of the trays with a microSD card, only one space remains at his disposal for a phone SIM card. The owner will have to prioritize and decide what is more important for him: more memory or the ability to operate communications provided by different operators.

The device provides a Wi-Fi connection based on the 802.11 b / g / n standard.

The currently popular NFC chip has not found use in Lenovo A6, so the owner of the gadget will not be able to use a smartphone for contactless payments, issuing it as a travel ticket or bank card.

Sound

The device implements speakerphone and active noise cancellation modes. There is a 3.5 mm mini-jack, traditional for most mobile devices.

Additional features

To ensure the security of information stored in a smartphone and prevent unauthorized access to it, a fingerprint sensor is placed according to the established tradition, like the prevailing set of modern Chinese models, in the upper part of the rear panel. A device that reads a fingerprint will quickly identify the user, reacting with instant unlocking or restricting access to files and applications of the device.

The equipment of the phone includes an accelerometer, familiar to modern gadgets, by means of which the rotation of the structure in space is tracked, which is important for mobile gamers who prefer active games.

There is a proximity sensor that responds by automatically locking the screen when the device approaches the ear: having registered the presence of an object in its field of influence, the sensor does not allow unintentional pressing with its cheek or auricle.

By purchasing Lenovo A6 Note, the owner will have at his disposal a package in which he will find a smartphone, charger and cable, a silicone case, as well as instructional materials.

The cost

According to available information, the new 2019 went on sale at a price equal to approximately 100 euros.
The cost of the model in Russia, depending on its version, averages about 10,800 rubles.

Advantages and disadvantages

A review of the Lenovo A6 Note model allowed us to form an initial opinion about the new smartphone. The budget-level device is characterized by decent functionality and technical characteristics for its segment. It will become a tool for solving daily tasks facing its owner, as well as an assistant on a trip thanks to a battery with a good indicator of autonomy, optimized hardware, and the amount of random access memory that prevents freezing.
