OnePlus 7T smartphone - pros and cons

The OnePlus 7 smartphone released in the first half of this year, which has received a stylish design and decent technical characteristics, is expected to be replaced by a novelty for the fall of 2019 - OnePlus 7T. According to the available information, its presentation will take place in the last days of September, and in October it is expected to start selling the newcomer. How the new model can attract the attention of a potential consumer, what positive and negative aspects in its design and technical capabilities take place, will be considered by the content of this article.

Features of external design

3D rendering allows for a visual assessment of the device, the presentation of which will take place in the near future.

A feature of the appearance of the OnePlus 7T model is the design of its rear panel and the main camera located on it. The latter is housed in a circle-shaped element located in the center of the back of the smartphone. The volumetric circle slightly extends beyond the surface of the gadget, which can cause certain inconveniences: putting the phone on the table with the screen facing up, you can get scratches on the protruding part of the structure with the camera, moreover, the product will not be completely stable. Below the circle with cameras is the brand logo. The fingerprint scanner did not find a place on the rear surface, but the entire back side is covered with a protective layer of Gorilla Glass 5.

There is a teardrop notch at the top of the front panel. Above the front-facing is the location of the spoken speaker.

At the bottom is the Type-C connector and speaker. A SIM tray is installed opposite the charging port. The side faces are equipped with power keys and change the sound mode (on the right side) and volume control (on the left).

The ratio of height and width of the display is 19.5: 9, which makes it comfortable for reading, watching videos, chatting in social networks, working with mail, communicating on Skype, realizing gaming preferences and other user needs.

The Optic AMOLED technology used for the display is designed to provide the most realistic picture. In addition, it has a more productive mode, in which it is possible to display high-quality information both indoors and outdoors, including in the sun. The screen resolution indicator is 1080 * 2340 pixels.

Platform

Management is carried out by the operating system Android 9.0 Pie. The specified version has found wide application in mobile devices this year due to the ability to increase the battery life of the gadget, give priority to the most frequently used applications, and simplify multitasking. In addition, the device received the firmware of its predecessor, OxygenOS 9.5.8. The update released for the OnePlus 7 includes security enhancements and improvements to the adaptive display brightness option.

The device uses the flagship Snapdragon 855+ chipset, which debuted in the summer of 2019. It became the basis for the majority of smartphones of this year, like the Asus Zenfone 6, Sony Xperia 1, Samsung Galaxy S 10, Xiaomi Mi 9 and many other eminent representatives of the leading brands (among others, the relatives of the model in question: OnePlus 7 and its pumped-up brother OnePlus 7 Pro). The octa-core model, based on a 7-nanometer technological process, has an Adreno 640 graphics accelerator at its disposal. The performance of the processor in question exceeds the above-mentioned indicator of the standard Snapdragon 855 chip by 15%, which makes it possible to increase the performance of the device in gaming processes.

Memory

According to the available information, the volumes of RAM and built-in memory are represented by the following solutions (RAM / ROM):

• 8/128 GB;
• 8/256 GB.

The slot for expanding the information storage due to an external source is not provided for by the design of the electronic device.

Battery

Li-polymer non-removable battery reportedly has a capacity of 3800 mAh. This figure is not impressive given the screen specs and the level of display performance. With standard smartphone use, its continuous operation without additional recharging from early morning to late evening is ensured, but fans of active games may need additional charge recovery during the day. The last point is implemented quite quickly and simply: the phone supports fast charging of the battery device

Cameras

The rear camera includes 3 sensors. The main wide-angle sensor has a resolution of 48 MP with an aperture of f / 1.7. Additional sensors are characterized by indicators of 16 and 12 megapixels.

Under the central sensor of the main camera, there is a dual LED flash. The main camera is capable of operating in HDR mode, realizing panoramic shooting, and also recording video in 2160p @ 60 fps formats; 1080p @ 30/60/240 fps; 720p @ 960 fps.

The front-facing camera has a single 16 MP sensor with an f / 2.0 aperture. The device owns a photo application that supports auto-HDR, shoots videos in 1080p @ 30fps.

It is not located on the back surface, which is typical for the lion's share of modern smartphones, but is hidden on the front panel under the display. The sensor will unlock the device with lightning speed or restrict access to its data.
The smartphone is equipped with sensors standard for a modern gadget in the form of an accelerometer and a gyroscope: thanks to them, the position of the unit in space is fixed. Thanks to the first one, turns are tracked, which is of no small importance for fans of active games. The second will not only track the turns, but also the trajectory of movement of the structure in space, its speed, the placement of the object in all three planes. With the coordinated operation of these devices, the device will differ in greater functionality.

No less comfortable application is a compass, which will be an assistant in the absence of a map. Having information about the estimated location of the object, using this option, you can successfully search for it.
