The popularity of models of mobile devices from one of the best manufacturer from China "Oppo" is growing every day across the planet. Excellent assembly, excellent technical features and modern appearance increase the popularity of the brand, bringing it to the rating of high-quality mobile gadgets.
Only one drawback in setting a high value does not allow creators to take the first positions in the mobile device market. Alas, the new Oppo F9 (F9 Pro) has a similar factor, the advantages and disadvantages of which are discussed in this article.

Today, the company has secured its fifth position among the largest Chinese manufacturers of mobile devices, and also occupies the eighth position in terms of sales in many countries, including the United States of America, Egypt, Russia, England and many others. Overall, the brand from China captures 3.8 percent of the total market, and the company's opportunities grow every year.
Oppo F9 (F9 Pro) is a regular development of a line aimed at the mid-range price category and made for fans of selfies. The Oppo F7 predecessor was shown in March this year, and the new product went into implementation on August 24. In simple terms, only 4 months passed between releases.
Taking into account such a short update period, there is no point in expecting significant changes. But despite this, the creators have done a tremendous job. They left the powerful sides and eliminated some of the minuses, but not all so that there was room for improvement in the next smartphones. In addition, many consider such a move as a fact that the novelty does not become a rival to the trendy popular models from the "R" line.
The package includes: actually, a smartphone, a charger, a microUSB type cord, a headset, a user manual, a warranty card, and a special clip for removing the SIM card.
The review starts with the design. Instead of a bored protrusion of various sizes, the company decided to use a fascinating drop-shaped notch for the front camera. At first glance it looks like an Essential Phone, but due to the gradual transition to the upper lip, the appearance has become more unusual.
The edges, by the way, are small: on the sides and at the top are almost invisible. The lower "chin" is wider and completely empty, but does not seem massive. The display itself has a diagonal of 6.3 inches, FHD + resolution, and an aspect ratio of 19.5: 9. Exact device dimensions:
On the back there is a typical picture: a two-module horizontal-type camera with flash, a fingerprint scanner, and a company logo. It is worth noting that the developers reacted creatively to the color palette. On sale there is a pinkish and bluish shell with a diamond pattern, as well as a glossy purple shell reminiscent of Huawei P20.
It is necessary to speak in connection with the differences between the new product and its predecessor, because it is in this section that updates, modifications, advantages of the phone and its disadvantages are much better visible. The Oppo F7 retains the title of great device. It has a stunning display with a very solid black depth for an IPS-type matrix, the highest contrast, as well as excellent visibility in the sun. Color reproduction is slightly weak, but only slightly, which in principle is comparable to many competitors.
The display size in the Oppo F7 is 6.23 inches, and the resolution is 1080x2280 px. The aspect ratio is 19: 9, a relatively wide ledge can be seen at the top of the screen.
The F9 is actually equipped with the same screen, only slightly increasing in size to 6.3 inches. The ratio was also slightly changed - 19.5: 9 with a resolution of 2340x1080 px. There was no point in waiting for a replacement for Super Amoled, because only smartphones of the "R" line are equipped with such a matrix. It is worth noting that the protrusion for the front camera has become much smaller, now it is difficult to call it "bangs".
The fact that the display of the novelty is covered with Gorilla Glass 6 needs special attention. The smartphone has become the only gadget with the security of an innovative generation, which undoubtedly needs to be added to the creators' advantages. The marketing team gave the display an attractive name to denote it - "Water Drop Screen". It is clear what exactly they wanted to say, since the protrusion under the front camera is made in the form of a water drop.
The hardware of the predecessor is so successful that it would be unwise to change anything here. Probably, in 2019 smartphones of the "F" line will switch to Snapdragon 670 or 710 chips, but in 2018 the Helio P60 from Media Tek remains the heart of the phone.
The processor shows excellent performance. It is almost as good as the Snapdragon 660 when testing the CPU functionality. The S660 is faster in overall performance, but the difference is no more than 10%. You can directly compare tests in AnTuTu.
The first results of the novelty in GeekBench are already available. For unknown reasons, the smartphone is slightly inferior to its own predecessor. Most likely, the point is in software customization, and developers will solve this problem very soon. But even if they do not decide, this is not critical.
Now about the memory. The F9 smartphone has been released in two versions:
But if this volume is not enough for the user, then the phone has a slot for a flash drive, and by the way, it is separate.
In the previous model, a 3400 mAh battery was installed, which guarantees the phone an excellent working time: when actively surfing the network and watching a video, the battery lasts from 10 to 13 hours, everything is in the applied mode. What was missing was fast charging. This minus was eliminated in F9.
The F9 phone supports the "VOOC Flash Charge" fast charging option, which was previously only found in the "R" line. The package contains an adapter with a power of 20 watts. The actual capabilities of the charger are very familiar: the battery, whose capacity is 3400 mAh in 30 minutes, it charges from absolute zero to 58 percent. The smartphone has a 3500 mAh battery, the effect is comparative. In addition, the manufacturers said that just 5 minutes of charging will give the device 2 hours of communication.
As mentioned above, the F-series phones are mostly aimed at fans of selfies. Their front cameras, as practice shows, are excellent, at least with excellent resolution. The front camera F7 is made on a sensor, the resolution of which is 25 MP, the light power is 2.0. Slightly surprising is the fact that the focus is fixed.
The novelty was equipped with an identical front camera, but the main unit was changed. The key sensor also has a resolution of 16 MP, but now there is only one on the back. In addition, a second unit is connected to it, the resolution of which is 2 MP. Of course, the depth sensor is only needed for the "Portrait" mode, but it is present, so the camera of the novelty is officially considered a two-module.
The F9 phone was released under the control of the Android 8.1 operating system and the Color OS 5.2 personal interface, which for many reasons is similar to the Apple device.Fingerprint identification is present and located at the back. It is worth noting that in the part of the "brothers", for example, in the A5 and A3, there is no fingerprint scanner. Oppo F9 supports face recognition, but in the reviews, users note that it does not guarantee an excellent degree of protection.
Wired communication is performed, as before, at the expense of microUSB type C, since this approach can be safely considered a "highlight" of advanced devices. Wireless communication is not fully implemented: there is no NFC block, and there is no support for the fifth version of Bluetooth.

Of course, some fans of mobile technologies will speak unfavorably about the fact that there is enough space under the screen for the camera. On the other hand, and so there are a lot of phones in which this is done not as a plus to comfort, but as a stylish parody of leaders. Oppo F9 is an excellent solution for the development of this trend, which is suitable for active games, watching videos, surfing the net, as well as great selfies.
