This review is dedicated to the R17 and R17 Pro smartphones. New items were released at the end of August 2018 and presented on the Chinese official website. Why the conference was not organized is still unknown. There were rumors about a limited release of phones, but this information is not yet reliable. Both models can be safely called flagship. What's inside the box?

The package bundle of the device is unremarkable.A dense box with the brand name in the center. And on the back, small letters indicate the model code, manufacturer and a short description. Recently, each company has been releasing devices in boxes with a minimalistic design, compared to 2009, when the packaging was colorful, bright and graphic.

Inside the box there is a glass candy bar, pleasant to the touch, smooth. A small guidebook in several languages ​​and a warranty card for up to three months that works in China. Everything is assembled neatly. The headphones and the cord are rolled up and secured with a special elastic band. The wires are of high quality, not thin like those of cheap Chinese toys.

Appearance

As befits the best manufacturers, the design of the smartphone is well developed not only from the aesthetic side, but also from the side of functionality and ergonomics. The candy bar is presented in four colors: black, white, blue and red. Judging by the positive reviews, many people liked red.

The display occupies about 92% of the front surface of the block, covered with modern protective glass Gorilla Glass 6. The side edges are covered with a durable aluminum alloy. The flagship runs on an installed operating system - Android 8.1 Oreo and a graphical shell - ColorOS 5.0 / 5.2. The default operating system is practically clean, without a ton of unnecessary programs. The in-display fingerprint sensor responds quickly and accurately.

Also, the phone has a built-in application that controls gesture settings. If earlier you had to download a paid program, now it is here, in the settings. If you have two SIM cards, you can duplicate instant messengers, accounts in social networks. It helps to differentiate personal life from work life.

Quite friendly and nice UX design. Bright and stylish picture on the front screen in lilac tones. The icons are standard, and the font is more elongated and grayish.

Camera

One of the strengths of these models is the 24-megapixel front camera, with good stabilization and focusing. Creates high-quality images regardless of the amount of light. Sharpness and detail do not drop when shooting at night.

The rear camera of both smartphones is much more interesting. Firstly, the modules have a built-in sensor - IMX576, secondly, they support shooting in HDR format. Thanks to the presence of super night mode and auto-aperture adjustment, autofocusing does not drop in the absence of light.

The R17 has two main camera modules: 16 Mpx, f / 1.8 and 5 Mpx, f / 2.0. Pictures even in low light are of high quality with good and rich color reproduction.

The three-module camera in the R17 Pro has the following parameters - 20 Mpx with f / 1.8 aperture, 16 Mpx f / 1.5 - 2.4 and 8 Mpx f / 1.7. How long does the battery hold

The autonomy of the device is supported by a rather capacious battery - 3500 mAh. Its charge is enough for a decent time. When watching online movies or games for a long time, the smart lasts for about 12 hours, in normal mode up to 18.

Surprisingly, both smartphones were announced at a reasonable price: Oppo R17 - $ 500, and R17 Pro - $ 650. Many gadgets with similar characteristics and even lower are more expensive, this fact will play in favor of the popularity of the released models.
